Duke’s CIVM Lab is world-renowned for their ability to create medical images with unprecedented resolution. Their 3D medical images are so precise that they can image mice brains at incredible resolution. How can they share their amazing work in a way that everyone can consume it? AN APP!

We created an app for the CIVM that simplified visualization of raw cat-scan microscopy data.

The app featured..

  • An array of data sets to visualize.

  • Selectable cortical structures that would highlight in both 2D and 3D views when selected.

  • A simple, interactive 3D representation of the mouse brain that allowed selection of both the view orientation and cross-section location.

  • A dynamic, 2D cross-section view that changed seamlessly as you moved the cross-section slider.
